Support women and children
Oxford is the most unequal and divided UK city outside London. Here, one in six children grows up in poverty – rising to one in four in some areas, while women’s charities face rising demand yet receive less than 2% of all UK charitable funding.
At The Room, we back purpose-driven leaders and invest in women, children and young people to create opportunities that ripple outwards – strengthening families, lifting communities, and building a fairer Oxfordshire for everyone.
Fund local
The Room raises funds to support small, local charities that stand alongside women and children in underserved communities, helping to build brighter futures and champion equality of opportunity across Oxfordshire.
Our partner charities:
– have an annual income of between approximately £50k and £1m;
– have a registered UK charity number;
– have at least 2 years of operations and accounts;
– work in the women’s/children’s/youth space; and
– operate in Oxfordshire for the benefit of the local community.
They must not discriminate on the grounds of politics, race or religion.
